Special Education

Under state and federal law, students with disabilities are entitled to a “free and appropriate public education” (“FAPE”).  Unfortunately, school districts often fail to meet their obligations to students and families.  EAP provides legal representation aimed at collaboratively resolving students’ issues.

Call or email us if you would like representation filing a state complaint regarding your child’s inadequate/inappropriate special education.  We suggest contacting Parent Network and/or Mental Health Advocates of WNY as a first step if you’re seeking assistance at a CSE Meeting.  Please also see our guides and template letters to get started on common issues, such as requesting (re)evaluations and independent educational evaluations.
