The Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo, Inc. is seeking an Operations and IT Assistant to support the Operations and IT department in their day-to-day activities and perform related duties as required.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals in the Western New York Community by assisting with administrative tasks, basic technical support, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operational and IT-related activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, responsive to direction, able to work independently and as part of a team, and capable of balancing multiple responsibilities with professionalism and accountability. This position may occasionally work outside of the regular workday as necessary for the operation of the organization or in cases of urgent facility issues.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations Duties:
- Assist in coordinating and executing operational projects.
- Manage and maintain records, databases, and operational documentation.
- Assist the Operations and IT Manager with procurement and inventory management.
- Monitor and manage office supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Assist in the implementation of operational policies and procedures.
- Track facility-related work orders, follow up with vendors/landlord, and ensure timely resolution.
- Accurately record, update, and report on the status of facility-related issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
IT Duties:
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting of computers, printers, and other peripherals.
- Support user onboarding, device assignment, and account setup under supervision.
- Follow all IT policies and procedures, including proper documentation and asset tracking.
- Monitor IT inventory, including tracking decommissioning, renewal, replacement, and other lifecycle management tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, issues, and resolutions.
- Work with IT vendors to process warranty claims, coordinate repairs, and manage other service-related requests.
- Assist in evaluating vendor performance and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Employment Standards:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two (2) or four (4) year college or university with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; or
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in any field, and at least one (1) year experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; or
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of training, education, and experience as defined by the above standards.
