Stephen Kaelin

Stephen is a rising 2L at UB School of Law who placed in the top five percent of his class during his 1L year. He earned his degree in mathematics, cum laude, with a minor in history from Gordon College in May 2024.

This fall, Stephen will join both the Trial Team and the Buffalo Law Review. Before coming to Legal Aid, he clerked at the boutique firm Casey Lundregan Burns, P.C. in Salem, Massachusetts. He chose Legal Aid to gain experience in public interest law and to deepen his commitment to justice and fairness in the legal system.

Outside of law school, Stephen volunteers as an assistant coach for a 14U travel softball team, enjoys woodworking, gardening, and landscaping, and is a competitive distance runner. He placed seventh in this year’s Buffalo Half Marathon.
