Priya Persaud is a senior at the University at Buffalo, where she is pursuing a double major in Legal Studies and English. Her passion for child welfare and advocacy grew through her volunteer work with Win NYC, an organization that supports homeless women and children in New York City. While volunteering, Priya witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by vulnerable families, which sparked her interest in family and child welfare law.
In 2025, she joined the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo’s Attorneys for Children Unit to gain valuable hands-on experience working with attorneys and professionals who serve youth in need. This year, she has returned to intern with our Civil Legal Services Unit.
In her spare time, Priya enjoys reading and watching movies (she proudly considers herself a bit of a movie buff).
