Micheal Beck is a first-semester graduate student in the Master of Social Work program at SUNY Buffalo. He brings curiosity, energy, and a well-rounded background to his internship at the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo.
Micheal earned his B.A. in Psychology from SUNY Empire and is a Licensed Massage Therapist in New York State. He was a frequent name on the Dean’s List, graduated with honors, and received the Career Design Center Internship Equity Scholarship. He keeps a lighthearted attitude about his academic success and credits his partner for keeping him grounded.
Although this is Micheal’s first internship, he was excited to join Legal Aid after learning more about its mission. He knew it was the right place for him after marching behind the organization in this year’s Pride Parade and seeing the positive impact the team has in the community.
Michael has a wide variety of interests and in his free time he enjoys indoor rock climbing, meditation, bird watching, NERF games in the park, and cooking. He also creates art when he can and likes to cycle and upcycle computer hardware.
