Kev McDermott

Kev is a rising 2L at UB School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with a public law concentration from UB, where he graduated summa cum laude. He also earned an associate’s degree in political science and global studies from Monroe Community College.

Kev is a proud recipient of numerous academic honors including the Hodgson Russ Discover Law Scholar and Koehler Public Interest Fellow. He’s actively involved in student organizations focused on advocacy, disability rights, and Latin American law, and volunteers with Citizen Action of New York.

Kev joined Legal Aid to pursue his commitment to public interest law and support work in immigration, housing, consumer protection, and community reentry. Outside of work, he enjoys bouldering, trail running, and spending time with his dog.
