Gemma Hacker

Gemma Hacker (she/her/hers) is a Buffalo native who recently completed her first year at Hamilton College, where she plans on majoring in government with a minor in law and jurisprudence studies on a pre-law track. When she’s at college, Gemma volunteers as an administrative assistant for Hospice & Palliative Care and she is a site coordinator for Upstate Caring Partners, where she engages with children and other individuals who have developmental, physical, or intellectual disabilities. Gemma is also going to be a staff member at her college’s Career Center and a first-year residential advisor as well. When she’s not at college, Gemma volunteers in programs for the Clarence Youth Bureau and teaches tennis for kids at Transit Valley Country Club. Gemma has a passion for family law because of her volunteer work she has always done with kids, especially serving on the board for the Clarence Youth Bureau as well. Previously, she has interned in the legal department of Roswell Park, where she gained knowledge in the healthcare sector of law. Gemma will be interning in the Attorneys for Children Unit where she desires to gain hands-on skills of providing justice for youth and their families. In her free time, Gemma loves playing racket sports like tennis and pickleball, going out for coffee with friends, and listening to 80s music.
