Shiniah France is a senior at the University at Buffalo, where she is double majoring in Law and Criminology. She identifies with the pronouns she/her/hers. Throughout her academic journey, Shiniah has taken on various leadership roles, serving as both President and Vice President of the UB Gospel Choir from 2023 to 2025. She is also an active member of the UB Women’s Flag Football Team (2023-2026), a Resident Advisor (2024-2026), and an Academic Tutor (2025-2026).
In terms of professional experience, Shiniah completed two internships at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, first in the Discovery Compliance Bureau during the summer of 2024, and then in the Rikers Island Prosecution Bureau in the summer of 2025. She chose to intern with the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo because she is passionate about building and supporting a community where everyone feels heard, valued, protected, and respected. Shiniah is eager to learn more about Criminal Defense work and assist attorneys in their mission to advocate for others and uphold due process rights. In her free time, she enjoys singing, baking, playing flag football, and meeting new people. Currently, Shiniah is interning with the Criminal Defense Unit.
