Our Civil Legal Services Unit  represents low-income individuals and families in such civil matters as divorce, landlord-tenant disputes, foreclosure defense and predatory lending abuses.  Family Court issues involving the protection and placement of children are handled by our Law Guardian Unit.

Buffalo City Court assigns lawyers of the Public Defender Unit to represent persons charged with crimes in the City of Buffalo who cannot afford counsel.  Our Appeals Unit is assigned by the Appellate Court to handle the appeals of indigent persons convicted of felonies.
